Just do as the rest of my family does, whip em out and do
your business lol. My cousin would literaly just whip them out, and she would finish up with the baby and then ya know, she would sometimes forget to pull her shirt back down. I dont know she's kinda airheaded tho.:p

Oh dear...... girl, I wasn't meaning to jump down your throat! I'm venting in a SAFE & SECURE location! I've no reason to be all upset at you! No no fo sho!

I would never ask permission to bring my child to class! or to breastfeed-esp since my child is so young! And nobody ever ask me if its okay for them to! My college isn't all that big .... think we got about 20 thousdand students? And its not like theie all here at the same time of day so its fairly small!
I was jus peev'ed that she was asking me to leave to breastfeed my child! Thats outrageous and wrong! People get all upset when women choose to formula feed over breastfeed, but then they get upset when they do it in their presence? It just don't make any ol sense!

    Have a good day, chica!

I looked up the laws about breastfeeding and spoke with a few people on campus and in the community, and it is discrimination to tell a woman she has to leave any public area because she is breastfeeding or intending to breastfeed her child! Thats what I was upset about!
I'm not a complete dolt to think I will keep a crying baby in class and have the learning process continue! But I have also payed good money to attend my classes and I'll be damned if I'll be discriminated against because I choose to breastfeed my child! I realize my professor puts a lot into her job everyday, but so do I! My gosh, babies eat, what? every 3-5 hours for the first 2 months? I have classes for 3 hours a day, 3 times a week! (thats all 4 of my classes). Realisticly all babies do at this age: eat and sleep! Colic tends to occur in the evening hours. I'm sure I can meet babies needs between classes. I have no intention of bringing baby to school next semester, but I'm not going to leave my baby anywhere for the first few weeks of his/her lil life! No way!
And it is impossible to find child care for any child under 6 weeks of age, and no state agency will fund a child for care under 6 weeks of age! My mother lives an hour & 1/2 away and she wants me to commute everyday for school! I think I'd go nuts with that long drive everyday and I don't think I could handle being away from baby everyday.
I'm still peeved.... can you tell? :reallymad
Hoolay! LOL. I can understand why you are P.O'd. I didnt mean to tick you off I just was stating my experience. I've attended two universities, one in Michigan and presently Arizona State. I have yet to see a baby brought to class. That's all I'm saying about that one. The Tribal college was way more relaxed, ya know, it was all relatives that didn't care. I know we spend alot of cash for tuition but, thinking back on my classes, I seem to have been in alot of classes where everyone was either serious or very opinionated, I know I would've been chased outta those classes had I brought my baby with me. My cousin is set to give birth any day now too, she's going to class still but she's got her babysitter all lined up. I can understand your situation where you're so far away from your mother. That is cool too your other professors welcome the idea. See I never even attempted that so I wouldn't know how open university professors really are.

he he he..... chasing babies in daycare......! Sounds like fun! I was in a daycare today for bout 5 minutes! Aaaaahhh, they're so cute! And den there was...... okay nevermind....

Thank you nykari for your thoughtfulness!

My mother is young too, *prays she never sees this thread!* she is 40 and just had a lil one in April! There are still 4 of my younger brother and sisters still living at home (ages 15, 10, 5, & 7 mos!)! I know she would lubb to be up here all the time to help me out, but I really can't ask her to! She has many more responsibilites to attend to and I would never ask her to focus on me.... my issues are minor in comparison to a day at her house!
