Contest you only get you dance in your category and maybe 4-5 songs..... I've only been to a few, but I like to jam! And I like to jam all day long and into the early hours of dawn! Sorry but contest is weak!

I like both and go to both, dance at both of em, etc. Nice to dance at traditional powwows and have that good feeling just dancing for the fun of it, but also nice to go to contest powwows and give it all you got and maybe leave with a few extra bucks.

Why don't we all post contest...-

Hate. Discontent. Who made more points. Who was related to whom. Who was picked, who was not.

Growing up I attended pow wows often, but they were only traditional pow wows.
I have started to attend them more often as an adult and last fall I went to a competition pow wow. I was not able to stay as long as I would have liked, but I was wondering about what a contest pow wow was like....-
