  • Any Turkey Day travelers?

People going out of town for turkey day?

We'll be hanging here this year.
    Having family over nothing fancy.
    Nothing sit down.
Or putting on nice clothes for.
All we ask is bring an empty stomach and some storage bags to take left overs home.
Only good eat and good talk.

Aye Sisters if your out there drive on down and bring my nephey's with you.
    Bring a dessert.Maybe two.
And if you still have boyfriends and they don't like to talk and eat then leave them at home.

We had some more family move here so we will be staying here. The Christmas tree will go up the night before and after feasting we will have a family tree trimming party.

When you turn your back on me, don't expect me to care what you think!!

      Chrome!
Nykari looks as if you will be having a cool night with your family.
Tree trimming is always a festive time.
      Thanks for responding.

I will spend it alone. Now that my ex moved out I have no one to spend with.

How sad, MaoriTanga!:( You should go see some friends or go somewhere on that day. Our local Chinese restaurant (ran by Cambonian refugees) puts on a free Thanksgiving feed for anybody who wants to show up.

Last year my girls and my mom were gonna go, since I left them high and dry and went south for 10 days.

                  This year I'm staying home!:)

My folks and me are meeting my mom's sister and my cousins up at Shasta. It's our usual yearly trip since I can remember.

Okay, So we all know it's Thanksgiving coming up. I never really thought of it as a native holiday for obvious reasons. However, I did look at it as a way to see family and get our grub on. As family has passed on and the holidays seem to get more conventional, there are more things to do on this holiday....

Do you decorate graves for Memorial Day? Or do you do something else to commemorate friends and relatives that have passed on?

Recently I was offended by this "educated" out-of-stater that came to our school. He went to visit the cemetery and I thought he'd find it very interesting...

I'm going to create an adventure for my children/grandchildren/great grandchildren/etc to go on.

At first it will be like "Care packages" and "Treasure boxes" being buried/placed/sunk/etc around the globe, as I travel. To save just in case...

                                But then...

So with the Holidays starting, does your family have any specific traditions that you do every year?

Here are a few of ours:

-Day after Thanksgiving we all pitch in to help decorate the house and the yard.
-I try to bake different holiday treats every other day....
