Happy New Year all. May you all have a safe and blessed year. Keep away from omicron.
Tonight we're supposed to have some much need rain. Yippe, no watching the roof for errant fireworks, if it rains. This old lady can go to bed early. (I learned my lesson about this when a neighbor's kid launched a bottle rocket sideways into the cedar shake roof of the house I was renting. Thank goodness I heard it and could reach it with the spray from the garden hose.)

Wanikiya tonpi wowiyuskin! Merry Christmas y'all. Out of respect for the holiday and the ears of others, I won't follow WD's lead and sing to you.
The Meow Mob would say Merry Christmas, but they're too busy scarffing down Jet's breakfast.Attached Files

Thanks for the link. I have a nice set of metric ball drivers in my lab. With them I can unscrew screws I can't see without my magnifying visor, LOL. If I had had a 0.050" allen key in my home set of tools, I probably could have gotten these out.
neodym magnet ?
There are lot of rare screw heads around in modern electronics and mechanics. You can't have a screw driver for every screw which exists at home.
Merry Christmas. It is dark now and the candles are burning.

I'm a beadworker and a jeweler. I use 18/o beads and 0.5mm^2 pallions of expensive silver solder. I'm an expert at getting tiny things out of cracks on the floor. I have magnets on a stick that can pull a needle out of deep shag carpeting -- in the house across the street. I buy lint rollers and kneaded erasers by the case, LOL.

The battery covers are held on with a tiny hex head screw -- metric hex head. None of the hex drivers in my studio are metric or small enough. I have just the right tool in my lab, but the plant closed at 5pm until 2/3. I'm not willing to gamble on whether or not someone forgot to tell me they recoded the alarm system when our plant manager left. So, I'm filing an old allen wrench down to fit the head. I figure I'm two Christmas specials from getting the thing down to the right size, lol.
You need something like that. I still have not managed to get a beaming transporter to send it to you. Be careful on removing. Some of the screws just want to jump around and hide in the carpet or cracks in the wooden floor.

My prayers are with you BA. Remember: "Where, O Death, is your victory? Where, O Death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." Dear Ol Chemist, I am not offended by christiantity nor by the believes I have learned a very little bit about. You may know that I think about parts which seems to me not very much apart of what I believe.
Thank you for your prayers they help.

I bought my annual Christmas puzzle and project. I was having a homesick moment for NM. No one around here puts out luminaries. So I am going to put some out along my porch stairs and front walk.

Last year, it was replacing the defective switch in the brand new fiber optic lighted miniature Christmas tree. The year before, it was figuring out what I had left out of my Florentines that prevented them from crisping up properly. Thankfully, no soldering this year or yanking out dental work with sticky cookies.
*Rose wanders off to find some Christmas music on Youtube that hasn't been electrified, jazzed up, turned into rap, or tortured to death by a deranged arranger.*Last edited by OLChemist; 12-23-2021, 07:32 PM.

This group also features an essential of a group of Lakota grade schoolers -- at least one boy in a cowboy hat and boots and one girl in her "princess" outfit :) There is little cuter than a little NDN boy with his braids sticking out from underneath his cowboy hat.

There's meant to be some gorgeous views of Mars this weekend. I, of course, being a LOD sufferer, will not be seeing it because the local weather is once again predicted to be nothing but a mess.
But for those of you who have an interest at all and clear skies as well, have a look up...-
