    • Goyo, a large hot chocolate. Actually, two please. One to drink and the other the soak in and get warm, LOL.

We're in day three of the winter storm/ice storm. The weather forecasters would have done a better job predicting this one, if they had thrown chicken bones in the air and looked at them to see if they were covered in ice. They are telling us we'll get over a 0.5" of ice by morning. A 0.5" of ice on the trees in the alleys next to the powerlines and we can kiss electricity good bye. Needless to say, I'm tense.

As wished or shall I say ordered?
We are above 32F but wet and windy. Very uncomfortable.

        • Thanks!

This is a weird ice storm. The temperature is warm enough that the surface roads are mostly clear. Everything an inch off the grass is a 0.25-0.5" deep in ice. My lawn is a sheet of ice, but the walkways are clear. Freezing rain is still falling.

My car is completely encased in a thick shell of ice. My across the street neighbors are scraping at an ice covered SUV with a spatula. I think they'll be down to the windshield by spring, lol.

Poor Jet has had a rough morning. The next door neighbor's cats drove him off and ate his first breakfast. The meow mob showed up for the second breakfast and he got about two bites. When I put out his third breakfast, a flock of starlings showed up. They dive bombed him until he was forced to run across the street. They are eating his cat food and he is crouched on the curb, with his tail thrashing wildly.

            • Poor Jet. We used to have a mockingbird in the neighborhood that lived to torment all the neighborhood cats. Anytime she saw them, she would swoop down and screech at them. She would sit on the powerline in front of our house, that way she could get our cat, the cat across the street and that cats that lived east and west of us.

OLC, you should be thawed out about now, I hope.

I won $10 today. I rarely buy scratch off lottery tickets. Bought a couple of $1 last week and won a ticket. Turned the ticket in this morning, and the clerk pulled off the wrong ticket, and I said I would take that one. Spent $2 and won $10 and another ticket. The money came on the "wrong" ticket. Glad I decided to take it. After I cash that in, it will probably be another 4 or 5 years before I buy anymore.

                • Everyone ready for the Stupor Bowl? I've got my snacks ready for the Puppy Bowl. I'm going to do a nice cheese fondue. I blanched my veggies last night.

The Siamese Princess is having a meltdown. Elizabeth Warren, the neighbor's cat, is running back and forth across my porch and down my driveway. Ishtato is running between the front and the guest room windows. She's making all kinds of weird meows.

                  • Your neighbor has a cat named Elizabeth Warren?? LOL! Never would have thought of that for a cat name.

We finally got rain on the third weekend it was forecast for. We are in a drought, so any amount is appreciated, but for the last 2 weekends, they kept saying we were going to get a couple of inches, and we barely got enough to dampen the dust on the road. At least this rain knocked some of the pollen out of the air. It's been thick.

My son gave me a laugh until I cried moment yesterday. Friday we talked and were going to set up a video chat for later today. He said Sun. would be better because he wanted to get caught up on yard work yesterday. Had some debris to burn. I wanted to post a picture of my granddaughter on my FB page yesterday, but they are careful about putting the kids on social media, so I sent him a text to see if it would be ok. He answered ok. Then, he sends this text "has dad ever set his beard on fire?" I knew what he had done, and I laughed so hard I was was crying and my stomach hurt. He wasn't hurt, except maybe his ego, or I wouldn't have been laughing.

So here is a shot of an almost always happy and smiling baby, my granddaughter, Lyra. I can't believe she'll be a year old next month.

Stupor Bowl is a bad joke about the Super Bowl. Stupor is a near unconscious state. I'm not a (American) football fan. So the Super Bowl reduces me to a stupor.

I believe blood quantums are the governments way to breed us out of existance !

They say blood is thicker than water ! Now maple syrup is thicker than blood , so are pancakes more important than family ?

I'm hoping this will become a running thread for people to post on a somewhat daily basis what they did each day that is healthy. Wellness, as is was brought up on another thread, is a HUGE area...
