  • I'm not sure I'm following your post BA. I case you don't know, Super Bowl is the final big football game of the professional football season. I have no idea what the visitors at the game do. But I'm sure alcohol figures in.

A drunken bike ride sounds rather like the antics at my graduate institution. They had an event called Beer Bike, which involved -- obviously -- chugging beer and riding a bike.

Come to think of it, my grad school's undergrads had a bunch of weird traditions. One of the undergrad residential colleges made a practice of running through the campus on the 13th of the month, wearing only a layer of shaving cream. They would make body prints on glass windows throughout the campus....

    • Things are reasonably OK ! Enough venison for the year in spite of my rifle issues ! Scope problems let several nice ones get away ! I need to shoot more than 4 times a deer season !
I believe blood quantums are the governments way to breed us out of existance !

They say blood is thicker than water ! Now maple syrup is thicker than blood , so are pancakes more important than family ?

There are "Elders" and there are "Olders". Being the second one doesn't make the first one true !

Somebody is out there somewhere, thinking of you and the impact you made in their life.
      It's not me....I think you're an idiot !

WD and BA, I got some target practice for you. Shoot that dang popup. It made deleting the spam post loads of fun.

Well, crawfish season is starting. Last night, one of the local Cajun places had their giant trailer mounted boiler running at some event down on Magnolia. You could smell the deliciousness all over the neighborhood. Around 4:30pm, I saw Jet headed toward restaurant row.

Someday I'll learn to eat 'em the right way. But, I still can't bring myself to suck on the heads. Another year of going to the conference down in Galveston online. No crawfish at Viet-Cajun :(

        • Goyo, chocolate. Lots and lots of chocolate. Infinite quantities of chocolate.

A customer hit me with a 6500+ item list of declarable substances. It's another one of these lists where they took every remotely applicable regulation on the planet and combined them in one spreadsheet. They want me to verify none of these chemicals are present above certain levels. I don't even know what 85% of these are or are used for. *Insert scream of despair*

          • Maybe you should try the chocolate museum. https://www.schokoladenmuseum.de/

            May be
instead of shooting the popups we might shoot your customers spreadsheet. But shooting at the popup may cause the scren to scatter all over the living room. Better to delete the script which is responsible for the popups.

I agree about the pop ups, and about not eating crawfish "the right way". I don't eat them that way either. There's a crawfish farm not far from here, so the last weekend in April, there is a Crawfish Festival. Arts, crafts, a parade, music and lots of good food. One of the ladies groups from a local church makes a great Crawfish Etoufee, and that's about the only time I eat crawfish. They do freak non-southerners out when they see them. They are sure if they are some sort of mutant bug or a mini lobster.

Summer is on the way. We are supposed to be having record heat by the end of the week-upper 80s or low 90s. It's never hit 90 in February before. We aren't expecting any rain for a while, either. We are in a drought with a moderately high fire danger.

I got one of those Swiffer floor duster things the other day, and one of their regular dusters-the fluffy yellow ones. Bought them so I could get some Spring cleaning done. I guess I better go take them out of the box and get to cleaning. LOL!

              • There's a little place over in Shreveport that has something they call crawfish royale. It's cornbread containing chopped bell peppers and onions, corn and crawfish tail meat. This is smothered with crawfish etouffee. It's also served with a small serving of breaded and fried tails. Yummy!!!!!!!!

I'm having some repairs done on my roof. Olivia, my three legged kitty, does not like this. The tech is working over *her* guest room. She is hiding under my chair, growling at every thump and bang. Last time she was this mad was before Covid when company slept in *her* bed.

                • The roofer just left. Olivia has climbed on to the top of the armoire and is stretching up to sniff the ceiling, lol. She must really have not liked what he was doing. Only rarely does she climb higher than two feet above the ground.

                      • Goyo, I know this is a weird breakfast, but I've never been a breakfast food person. Can I have some fish tacos and an iced tea, please?

How's folks? Anyone making anything pretty?

It got cold again, after hitting 90F on Tues. We set a record high. Now it's 40F and drizzling. I'm freezing. I need to go out to the studio and finish polishing the pendant I'm working on.

I still don't have a next piece designed yet. I've been playing with some ideas that mix silver and beadwork. Maybe a ledger style figure on one side and a piece of beadwork on the back side, in a shadow box.

                          • We still dealing with almost record heat. It might rain Friday, and cool things off.

I've been watching a show streaming on Showtime called Murder in Big Horn. It's about the disappearance of 3 women from the Crow/Cheyenne reservation. I am amazed and appalled at the lack of care experienced by the families of these young women. The authorities who were in charge, need to be replaced. Far too many young girls and women are going missing and turning up dead. If they were Caucasian, you bet their would be a different. I'll get down off my soapbox because I know I'm preaching to the choir.

Well, spring in Texas has sprung. Feline alert went off around 5:45am and the weather radio at 6:02am. We had a little small hail and a lot of thunder. Olivia is hiding inside the turkey roaster in the pantry. Ishtato has crawled up inside the foundation under the guest room bed mattress. It's profoundly disturbing when you walk through the guest room and the bed is whining in terror, lol.

Subs, I haven't seen that series yet.

This movie ran on America Reframed last year. It addresses elements of the same devaluing of Native Women's lives.

I'm hoping this will become a running thread for people to post on a somewhat daily basis what they did each day that is healthy. Wellness, as is was brought up on another thread, is a HUGE area...
