since the holidays are here... (already, can you believe it? )
what are some of the traditions your family has done in celebrating the holidays? or what traditions have you started?

for example... each t-giving we watch the parade, nibble while my mom's preparing, eat, nap, eat again, go bowling, eat again, watch tv (football game), eat agin, nap, and eat again...hahaha... what else are you gonna do w/all that turkey?? man... i've eaten EVERY turkey dish possible after t-giving...haha for real man!

each x-mas my fam & i watch a christmas story, eat "dinner" at like 1-2pm, lounge, go to the movies , sometimes bowling, and always play board games

    what about you?

dont really have a turkey day tradition

but for xmas ev my mom and i wrap gifts and watch all 3 indiana jones movies :) put out cookies and milk for santa and then put the gifts under the tree....with a little extra shaking from me :D

than on xmas morningi wake up at the crack of dawn run down stairs look at the tree cuz im not allowed to touch the gifties.

then i run up stairs after i cant take it anymore, and jump in my parents bed to wake them up then we all go down stairs and i have a cup of tea while they wanna have a 3 course breakfast cuz they know im a little anxious to open gifts...lol
    Oh yeah, I used to know Quentin...He's a real...He's a real Jerky

      For us,

We have a gift a day thing, 7 days before xmas. It's where 7 days before christmas you open 1 present, and so on and so forth. On Christmas day, you get to go hog wild on what's left. After that, 7 days afterwards, you draw a name, and put a gift in that person's shoe, that's left outside their door.

That's cute Ron. Hopefully the shoe won't stink eh?? lmao

One thing we did one year was for the babygirl, she was at risk of finding out what her present was if we wrapped it, so we got a huge box and put the wrapped gifts inside and then wrapped the huge box. hahahha, she liked getting gift after gift. One year I did that for my son, big box, smaller box then smallest box.

last year for my littlest one (he's 2 now) all we did, was wrap an empty box. He got the toy after he opened the box and we were able to pry him out of the box.. LOLOLOL

For supper, we'll have spaghetti soup *G* or some sort of roast.

We never celebrated Christmas so our routine was pretty much the same as a weekend. Me and my bro would wake up, watch TV, eat Fruity Pebbles and beat each other up.

On Christmas Eve we are usually delivering last minute gifts (or either shopping!!!) and after I go to bed Santa (my mom) puts out my stuff (sometimes I do it myself!!) and my brothers (in his early 40's) and when I wake up (usually early in the am) I put out the gifts Santa got her and my aunt (who is like in her late 40's). Santa visits everyone in my fam - my mom taught me that is the "spirit" of Santa not necessarily a person. I was devastated when I was in Elementary School and found out there was no Santa :Cry

i know my parents use to use it as a scare tactic for me to behave & whoop my oosh into shape... but i never recieved it.
i don't think i could do that to my kids... when i have them... man, i'd be the worst mom... hahahha... how cruel!

o... i love turkey day just cuz i get to be w/my fam and eat eat eat!!!

this year i'm spending both Christmas and Turkey day w/my fam. I'm so fortunate that my mom still cooks for us and that my sister has a house big enough to hold our growing family.

Mainly the whole day involves preparing the food and then finally eating it...

After we eat we usually sleep and my dad will go hunting if he can and then we play card games or board games and/or rent movies and watch them. I think this year me and my sis are gonna take off and leave everyone to go watch Love Actually. :)

for christmas its gonna be pretty much the same but w/less food. Usually we have ham instead... and of course corn soup and frybread and kickapoo chili and ... hehhee dang makin myself hungry all over again.

well... i'm ready for turkey day. :)
The only time its too late to start dancing is when you're dead.

                              same!
i'm soo thankful that my mom still throws down in the kitchen... it's ALWAYS good eats!
she'll cook a meal for 4-6 for her and my dad and invite us over "i think we'll have leftovers, so get it while it's fresh!"
hahaha... just to keep us near! but there's no complaints from me!

Christmas......(sigh) I'm almost done with my shopping. I have all my gifts laid out on my bedroom floor and I have to wrap them up. I got decorations done and I'm ready to relax until Christmas. Fall classes are behind me and I'm happy. I still haven't thought of an awesome gift for my husband...
