  • Turbo Tax...anyone?

Have anyone of you tried Turbo Tax, and if so, what are the benefits and disadvantages? I want to try it this year, but I wanted to hear some input first.

My sis did mine on there and so far so good. There was an error on my return and they caught it right away so I could fix it. I'll let you know when I actually get it though, supposed to be in a week or two.

My wife used to be a Tax Accountant and last year she did our taxes on it. She really liked it. There were a few areas where she couldn't do exactly what she needed to, but overall she liked it.

When she worked at the tax firm, she would do ours on thier software.

We will be using Turbo Tax again this year.

I don't like the fact you have to buy it brand new every year though.

How soon did you get your refund? The website site says in as little as 10 days, but don't know how accurate that can be.

We actually did an extension and filed after 4/15. So ours took longer than normal.

I didn't buy any software. I went to www.hrblock.com and efiled online. It was simple, easy and cost me only $9.95. Actually my federal return was free, and they charged me 9.95 to file my state tax. It checks for errors and lets you know which options are best for you.

I called H&R to get a price quote on using their office... $115.00 for them to prepare and efile! Whatta RIP! :Mad

This is the second year I filed online thru H&R Block.
I filed last Friday and I should be getting my return (via direct deposit) in two weeks!!

I definitely give it 2 :Thumbs :Thumbs up!

well, in the past 2 years I've been going to H & R Block, and they took out $120 out of my refund, but got my refund in 2 days. This year I wanted something less expensive. I heard about Turbo Tax, and wanted some input on that. It's gonna cost me $20 though, but I also wanted to see how long it would take to get my refund. I don't mind waiting.....

For the last 5 years I have used Taxact.com.

You can do your taxes there for free online, or you can download the program to your computer for free.

You can efile through them also for $8.95.

My taxes have always been right on. Just to make sure that taxact was ok we did have someone from H&R Block check em out.

The free taxact standard does pretty much the same thing as turbo tax standard.
It is so sad that a family can torn apart by something as simple as a wild pack of dogs.

H&R block has always done me good, I do pay the 125. but they take it out of my refund so there is no up front cosst, and I get my check in two days.

Unfortunately we can't use H&R Block package or the basic online services because I run a business.

So we shell out the $70 for the Turbo Tax Premiere.

Well, if you have a simple return you can use the free section of Turbo Tax. Most tax sites seem to have some form of free e-filing.

And if you need to check on deductions or whatever else on a 1040 or 10A, Turbo Tax walks you through every possibility.

The little ticker at the top that totals your refund amount is a good thing....so exciting to see it go up.

TT is also a good way to estimate your return quickly cuz you can edit your data anytime before fiing. I did get my refund quickly last year, but don't remember the exact number of days.
                            ...it is what it is...
