Last night we had a business seminar... here at NAU and the manager of a chain of Burger King and Hampton Inns said some of the most ignorant things ever said!

When referring to his businesses he said "my motels/Burger Kings have mostly native americans working there... the place is so clean that you wouldn't even know that its Native American owned" WUT THE HELL!! Are N.A.'s suppose to be all rugged? And run rank businesses?

He said "damn medicinemen" when tellin about how he grew up. For me i think it should be a blessing that he had this opportunity to be amongst medicinemen. WHere does he think he got his wealth??

WHen i asked him where does he get the strength to continue when things get hard or were hard.. all he could say was "my BurgerKing in Kayenta" wut a dense man!

When I asked him about culture.. to wut does he owe..? He said "my parents.. I guess... I dont know.. I really dont know"

I encourage you all to take a stand against these ignorant people who are not aware or grateful for the fact of being Native American. There's alot more i want to say but just want you guys to see this... and take this stand with me and spread the word! Because this is just ridiculous how he was at our seminar tryin to promote his company and promote Native American achievements when he himself is not respectable....

good! the manager i'm talkin about is Richard Mike.

He didnt even know how to answer any of the questions asked... that just enraged me! I mean I give thanks for all I have and it just frustrates me to see that with all his accomplishements he is still ignorant in the fact of not knowing where it came from.. and with his lilo comments here and there.. he made himself look dumb.

I am sure they would be interested to know that a boycott has been discussed and why....and like any other corporation, they do want to hear what the public says.

When it was found out several months ago that McDonald's did not offer scholarships to Natives, and that they do not consider us as a "minority", I followed thru with not eating there and it was really tough. But I also let them know -and until it changes, I will refrain from eating there. (which is really hard for me, cuz I love Mickey dee's.) But what this guy said is not really a total reflection on how all of Burger King feels - the guy is just an idiot. Not Burger King's fault, but they should be aware of the crap he is spewing.

Keep us up-to-date with this situation, tho. If you call and they are not offering some sort of resolution, then we will be ready........ :freddy: :karate: :army: :8: :marching:

This is a classic case of $$$$$ getting the best of people. They forget where they came from. There's a lot of successful Indians around. I would say a lot of them turn out like this. But, there are those who remain true to their roots.

I don't go to burger king (I AM the burger king! J/K) cuz of my diet, but I'd wouldn't go to his if he acts like that.

Even if you got this guy to publically apologize to "the people" it would be meaningless. He'd still be an a**hole.

Aren't there any "Mutton King" restaurants around there?J/K
