You know him better than we do, we don't even know you.
I'm with Kitche on this one.

        more about me

I am considering to ask my uncle this, he is Lakota I am Potawatomi. We have been fairly close throughout the years through my mother, and within the past few years I have felt a stronger and stronger need to learn all I can with his help. I have been searching throughout my life for the same type of spiritually or religion that followes what I already believe in my heart to be true, I have studied/learned about Hinduism, Buddisim, Catholic, Taoism, Wiccan, etc etc, and after 35+ years of searching have realized that what I am looking for has been right in front of me all along (just waiting I guess). He has, among other things, preformed prayers of help for my mother when she was so sick, he also, at my request blessed my tipi before I could take it out anywhere (it felt right to have him do this). I hope this helps you to know a little more about me.

It sounds to me as if you are already learning from him. I say you just talk to him about it and trust him. I could be wrong...

Sorry, can't help. I am not of your nation and I don't give out spiritual advice on the internet(that is very personal to me). How ever, I am sure someone else may be able to help.
Also, welcome to the site. I am a 'newbee' too.

                Enjoy!

Hey MDM, she isn't askin for spiritual help on the internet, she is asking for advice on what to do. I think giving "spiritual" help is personal to all of us!

I may have came about too strong. You are right. <(MY BAD)>
Anyway, I hope she does what she needs to do to learn from her uncle. Sounds like she is on the right path though.

                    Thanks ~tucks tail between legs~

I would have to agree with this. Sumtimes you just have to open yourself up to what he is already teaching you. You have kinda already answered your own question, by telling us you searched for sumthing that was already in front of you.

                        Good Luk....

                          Thanks

Much thanks to everyone for your input. I will have to make a trip to see him and just talk and see where it goes. We may be far apart by miles but I've always felt connected to him and need to pursue this with his help. Thanks again you all are great

I thought your were close to him. How far away is he? Do you talk to him on the phone a lot? It's a shame that you can't spend more time with him. It sounds like you honor him well tho.

                                Hello,

I apologize for making one of these types of threads, but I would really appreciate advice in this anonymous setting.

Lately I am feeling like I should give up everything regarding my native identity. I have done these things since I was seven, learning languages,...

I didn't notice any threads about diabetes amongst native people. I don't know about anyone else, but diabetes is becoming a concern of mine, personally because I have family members with this disease. I would just like to hear what others' comments are about this disease. I had a grandmother that...

I haven't been on here in a while. A lot has happened in the time I've been gone. I've been homeless several times. Done an extensive amount of couch surfing. Much of this has to do with my past which I will actually explain in a moment.

I'm looking to rename myself. So please if...
