          Dreammaker,

Was the rifle the Lakotas referred to:

Maza Kut'e - Iron Shooter (What I have heard it called)

          or

Maza Wakan - Holy Iron? (What they called it 'Into the West')

What does your native tongue call it?
Powwows will continue to evolve in many directions. It is inevitable.

Let me know, okay? I couldn't find it through any of the video rental or online purchase sources. I seem to like all the Indie movies more than the mainstream which means it's hard to get personal copies.

Maybe it will make others that are watching it think as well. I can't remember seeing a movie like this that actually shows the white man being the bad guy. The more I see and learn (and not just from the movie), the more it makes me mad that we were taught wrong! Maybe the movie is a good thing?

Seems like everyone, or well the 1st page is slamming the series, cause its not "true" or whatever, then either don't watch it, or make your own series...

Ndn....I've been watchin' the posts. I see what you're saying, but it's not necessarily ragging on the series. Personally, I couldn't tell ya what's true and what's not.. I am enjoying it though. I love hearin' the language and some of the other stuff.

I'm hoping overall that the national "publicity" will spark a new/renewed interest in native's in general so that some opportunities allow for more "truth" to be expressed by those of us with knowledge. I hope that makes some sense.

Then sometimes, just sometimes the Crow can bring the soul back and put the wrong things right.”

                                I WISH.............
