    Dear brothers and sisters,

    I am Wyawaqacumen, "Walking Everywhere."

I was given this name by the Wenetgo Lenape when I was a young man. This name has special meaning to me as does the culture from which it comes.

It is nice to meet all of you and I thank you for your invitation to this gathering.

I wish to thank you with these words.

Kishelemieng! Temakeleminen ok ongundewaken milinen. Weli nipalinen. Welamalsewakan milinen. Kenahkinhinen. Nuxati getemaktunhe.

Great Manito! Take pity on us and offer us a blessing. Stand us up well. Give us happiness and joy. Watch over us. I ask this humbly great spirit.

Dapi wyawaqacumen nan. Dapi maxkw ok mochipwis nan.

Here, I am "Walking Everywhere." Here, I am the bear and buzzard man.

        "Wendeyaho"

It is nice to hear from you and thank you for your welcome.

I hear your words as I hear a Cherokee song that I learned when I was young. It is called "Wendeyaho."

You are the fresh day that rises in our friendship and I am grateful to the great Manito to have met you.

Walk well sister and know you have a new friend, amongst the Lenape.

Thank you Lisa for your kind words.

I know little about the Cree or native people in the Midwest.

I would welcome you to tell me more about your traditions and your family's history, if you have time.

Walk well sister and again, thank you for your kind words.

sitting at the fires of our ancestors

To my new brothers and sisters,

I was told, sitting at the fire, that one should first smoke together and just be for a time.

I hope that we can have our smoke rise together and blend, as it is the old way, so that we can understand each other and become one.

Thank you for your kind thoughts.

I offer my pipe to you and send in return wishes of greetings, happiness and health back to you and your family.

Walk well please. You walk for us all.

            Wyawaqacumen
