i think the adoption thing is cute, way over used, but cute.
i guess i just take the whole making of relatives a bit more seriously than others.
i wonder if this aussie knows how this whole thing works or if she just skimmed over that chapter in tha black elk book

..Alllright....I see where this is headed.Let's not start pickin' on the Aussie about the Cherokee thing and cause an International incident.I just hope the Elder doing the adopting is legit and honest in his intentions. As for you, miss, good luck in your endeavours and I commend your efforts in learning more about Native peoples....learn all you can and make sure what you learn is proper and respectful....keep smilin'1

Hi My Name Is Running Waters And I Am Australian But Are To Be Adopted As A Cherokee In July,07 When I Return Back To Usa.

At Present I Am Living In Australia Since Feb 06, As I Was With My Husband Who Passed On The 29th January,2007 From Rectum Cancer Which He Had Since August,05.

I Was In Usa In Feb-march05,june05-aug05,dec05-feb-06
But Each Time As The Adoption Grew Closer I Had To Rush Back Because Of My Late Husband Illness.

I Was Able To Be Involved In Three Cherokee Sweats But I Was Not Able To See Any Pow Wows Which I Will Do So In July,2007, As I Want To Feel The Beautiful Atmosphere Of The Songs, And The Music And The Beautiful Clothing.

I Practice Tradional Native Ways Mainly Cherokee As My Male Cherokee Friend Who I Have Known Since Oct 04 Is An Elder.

    Walk In Peace
