    Boozhoo!!!

I am a member of the local NAIA organization here in Memphis, TN (a primarily cherokee, chickasaw area) and one of maybe three Ojibwe. I am also a participant of as many pow wows as I can go to, and I would like to know, if possible, what the Ojibwe Straight and Traditional Dance regalia looks like. Is there a place online, where I can obtain pictures and possibly pattern so that I can ensure my regalia honors not only the Ancestor's, but also the Ojibwe Nation. Also, is there a location as to where I can find a way to learn the Ojibwe dance steps to the above mentioned dances (Straight Dance and Traditional Dance)

I have traced my ancestry down to my great grandmother Bertha G. Johnson (Tyler) and would like to show my family and ancestors respect and honor as well in my dances.

Currently, I wear leather leggings (with knee bells), breechclout, chocker and moccasins. What if any, else would I add to my regalia??

I have found that crazycrow.com has Roach kits and Bustle kits, however I have yet to find a place where a picture of Ojibwe regaila is easily seen.

            Traditional Anishinaabe Dances
            by Waabi-binesi
Okay, here's the deal. I want to start dancing next year and I have a problem. First off I want to make this very clear that this is not a criticism of anyone. This is just my personal desire to honour my Ojibway heritage.

I am a full blooded Ojibway from the Saugeen First Nation and...

Need advise on dance and regalia
            by nova13
I was never raised in my culture due to being placed in foster care at a young age. I am of Tsalagi, I've been spending time trying to learn more about my culture, and other native cultures as well. And I've had a growing interest in Pow Wows, and would like to preform. I know Tsalagi people did not...

Hi all. I am hoping to get some advice and help from all you traditional dancers. My youngest son will be turning six this month. He has cerebral palsy. Up until now, he has always danced in just a ribbon shirt and pants. He has now outgrown his shirt and really wants a full regalia. He wants to grass...
