( Osage, Cherokee, White mountain apache on dad's side/ Cherokee, Blackfoot, and Creek on Mom's side). And always nice to have someone to say hi too!!

Not really. My family is all mixed up whether by marriage and/or blood. I try to learn and understand a little bit from each. I am studying the Giduwah dialect ( for the Eastern Cherokee), bellydancing for the Arab,
trying to learn ribbonwork for the Osage and the language, I don't know you just break it down, lol. My culture is really important too me.

          Greetings & Blessed Morning...
Hope you will not receive the same "warm" welcome which I received, once I started to express my points of views on certain thread issues... just be cautious what you post, and you'll be fine!

May thy life be a safe journey...

I just basically want to learn more. I'd love to learn how to sing in my native language, figure out how to get my babies more involved. I am not too opinonated.. I love to dance ( just started jingle and love Tradish) hip hop dance ( learned Ciara's Promise ( I danced classic Ballet for 14 yrs., anything to do with my culture and of course being a mommy.

cmartin, let me apologize to you for what I am about to do. My sincere apologies

Ras Redbone. This is directed to u.

It is not fair to tell a newcomer to this site they will receive a 'warm' welcome if they express their point. You, my friend, are not knowledgeable of 'NDN way'. That is evident from your first post. Real NDNs don't blast out they have 'totems'. Real NDNS don't come in and try to show their expertise on all subjects. You saw what you wrote to Cetan Zi. Many of us have been on here for years. Many of us have stress filled jobs in a white world and enjoy coming on here to be with our own, because of the commonality we have in our lives. You don't have that commonality. You came on here and in <10 posts, tried to change the world. That's why you were called out on some of your posts. Grow up. BTW I was protesting the Vietnam War back in the late 60's. Don't come on here trying to say we are 'establishment' and are brainwashed.

cmartin, again I apologize. Hope the time you spend on this site is as rewarding to you as it has been to many of us.

Hope u understand NDN humor. There's a lot of it on here. Not me, though. I'm always way serious!

                              Hey JD,
I think you could start a whole thread on your statement:

"Many of us have stress filled jobs in a white world and enjoy coming on here to be with our own, because of the commonality we have in our lives."

It is nice to have a place to come to at the end of the day (sometimes during the day.....don't tell my boss!! ) where we can talk......and kid around.....a LOT!

Anyway......had to jump in to put in my 2 cents.

                              Welcome, cmartin!

I just wanted to let everyone know that there is a huge backlog of applications being filed by the Cherokee Nation.
I was talking to them and they said that there were over 20.000 applications to process! There is currently a 17 to 18 MONTH waiting list.

                                Are anyone of you filing...

Hey y'all. I'm new here. I was adopted at an early age. I grew up with my mom's side of the family. They are from Italy. They moved to Florida, then to North Georgia. I met my Father at the age of 27. He was born in Alabama and spent his childhood in North Carolina. He said his father was Cherokee and...
