  • Hi :)

I am starlight3263, my journey began in 2006 when I started
to get into wicca, and found out so many things about my past lives, I am also a medium/channel, I was told that I am cherokee
but there is a strange story behind that and I am still trying to find out about it, I do work with the spirits of light, and I channel them as well.
Light, love, peace and hugs :)

First off, Hello and welcome to the site.

Second off, what does your religion have to do with us? That's all fine and dandy that you do work with spirits. And Wicca is your religious preference, just as some people choose Christianity, Judaism, etc. But it has little to nothing to do with the native community at all.

If you are here to get assistance in possibly finding if there is any truth to your Cherokee heritage and connect with the native community, alright. But please be advised that it's not wise to confuse our Culture with a Religion/spirituality.

Our journey began when we were born. You're too late.

No offense taken at all. It just raises eyebrows when the first thing out of someone's mouth is about their spirituality (or many other topics of interest), even before the information that is relevant to the group they're introducing themselves to. ;)

              Welcome to powwows.com

Starlight, in some Native communities it is considered inappropriate or unwise to discuss spiritual matters with strangers. In most of our traditions these things are treated with a special respect and protectiveness that prohibits the casual sharing of spiritual information. Further, since the lost white guy thought he found Cipango, our traditional ways have been suppressed, outlawed, ramsacked and grotesquely distorted. So many of us are deeply distrustful of those who come to us seeking or seeming to seek these things. While we understand that in most western traditions things are different, it can still be off-putting when a stranger begins their conversation in this sensitive area.

That said, enjoy your visit and have some virtual frybread while you're here :)

What was your spirit doing before 2006?

My spirit has been on this journey since I came into this world.

                Am I missing something?

Why must I feel like that..why must I chase the cat?

unfortunatly some modern cultures (or lack of) don't have any real spirituality involved during upbringing.... some are left to their own devices to discover that we are more than just meat.... hence a lot of 'late' awakenings.... more power to all on their own quest towards truth....
So long!! Thanks for the frybread!!

Can you expound on 'some modern cultures'?

Gladly, how about the most prevalent culture of greed and/or war as practiced by the masses these days....

Are you describing demographic culture or racial culture.

You see, I was brought up in a racial culture within a demographic culture.

neither and both.... I'm refering to the overall net effect of human interaction so far as a global culture. Within that global culture there are countless sub cultures. draw the lines where you will, SOME of those will produce individuals with no spiritual awareness at all and/or late sleepers.... so here we are.... with me trying to stand up for the other innocent late bloomers who happen to wander by in their quest.... (It's the drum and frybread drawing 'em like moths to the flame!!)

MY individual (lack of) culture has no prohibitions on discussing spiritual issues, it rather encourages it for the betterment of all mankind, albeit this is not the forum for those discussions....
