  • New guy...

    Hi there,

I'm Eliabe, 20 year old guy, law student, living in sunny Brazil.
I can't be considered a 'Native American' but my father's grandmother was native and so was my mom's great-grandmother. I'm a mix of African, European and Native [South] American.
I developed an interest in Native American culture after visiting some Facebook pages and reading things on other websites about Native American spirituality. I really don't know much about your culture, pardon my ignorance but I'm really interested in hearing more about it, nothing specific and I'd love to make friends with some of you guys in the process.

If any of you guys want to connect, I'd be glad to talk.

    Thanks.

      Welcome!

I don't think there is any such thing as generic "Native American culture." There is American culture. There are traditions within specific Indian nations which are "culture", but there are many nations and bands of Indians here, so no ONE culture.

I think the same issues facing South Americans are also issues here. Many fight poverty, the influence of drugs and alcohol, the issues of broken or single parent homes, labor issues, political issues, etc etc.

      Hope you enjoy it here!

Great link! They're from Tocantins, a nothern state in Brazil. I live to the east of it, in Bahia, where other Indians live such as the Kiriris, who my father often worked with. There are Indian tribes where I live and Americans sometimes visit them.
