  • I am finding some votes that will be removed.

The results I posted were incorrect! If you saw them, please do not spread them.

I apologize for making that mistake.

    • As in the past, there are some user accounts that appear to be created by the same person. I have remove a few vote from multiple candidates.

      • Congrats to all 3 you all have a lot to be proud.

With several votes being problematic in knowing if they are legitimate or not I'm declaring the top 2 tied. And we will have a run off.

The run off will last 7 days.

Good luck to MayChe and eap7 in the runoff.

              • Wow what a rollercoaster ride! I'm thinking we need to have this princess contest as the next reality show or something, there are so many unexpected twists and turns! But unlike most of those shows where people get made fun of or humiliated, I for one am very proud of my fellow contestants who, as the close votes show, have demonstrated many of their positive qualities, goals, and ambitions for themselves, their families, communities, and our own little virtual community of powwows.com. So congrats to both of them!

I am very honored to be in the new tie breaker round :) But I am wondering if we can have some clarification of voting, here for all to see, so that there's no confusion.

First, will new users be allowed to register in this tiebreaker poll? I had asked Paul about this before the original poll, and he had said users had to be registered before the poll began- that is, before Jan. 1. This is what I told all my family and friends, and it was only last Wed.- 31 days later- when I saw a new user post that she had voted and just registered that day, that I realized new users could register all along! I PMed Paul and he explained that because of the forum change, he couldn't regulate who could vote...but it was still frustrating to have told many people during the entire month that they couldn't vote when in fact, they could! So can we clarify *who can* in fact vote in this new poll?

Second, when will the new poll begin?

Finally, how will wireless votes be counted? From what I understand, all computers connected to the same wireless network are assigned the same IP address. Many of the people who voted for me are college students who only have wireless access, and I'm sure many of the people who voted for Maya and Yesenia also used wireless given that its in many places nowadays. So there won't be any confusion about what votes to count if there are multiple users registered to the same IP from the same wireless network, what are we going to do for this new poll?

                • Dang Paul, you beat me to putting up answers before I could post my questions!!! Guess that's why you're the webmaster, you're a mind reader too! Thanks.

But your second question needs a clarified answer. How can you tell the difference between 1 user with 5 logins on 1 computer and 5 users with 5 logins on 1 computer?

Oh that's not what I'm saying. I'm probably not asking this right because I don't really understand the technicalities behind it.

                        I agree with the 1 vote/computer rule.

What I'm asking about is, many of my friends are voting from wireless connections on their individual computers. I called the Computer Services and they told me that dorms are assigned blocks of IP addresses and say Katie is in room 1 and James in room 2, and they both vote on wireless, they could have the same IP address even though they're on different computers because they are on the same wireless router. Is this not the case? I may have misunderstood but this is what I thought I was told.

Reading this over, I still don't think I'm expressing it right.

Say there are 5 people on 5 laptops in a library with wireless internet. Will each person have their own IP address, or regardless of the IP address, will each vote be counted? That's effectively what I'm asking.

                          • IP's don't matter in the run off because no new accounts will be allowed.

Okay that makes sense. So if its strictly going to be a numerical vote and you're not throwing out any votes, then why don't you unhide the poll so we can see the numerical votes in real time? Its real exciting! lol
