Most, if not all of us, have run into situations where we faced stereotypes about Native Americans or incorrect information about Native American culture.

Please describe an experience you had that involved such a stereotype or misinformation and how you handled it.

What kind of regalia do you wear when you particpate at powwows? And Why?

Well like most people i went to public school and ran into this kind of problem many time. The way you handle it is, you can only tell them what you and answer any questions to the best of your ability. Then you need to be nice about whatever they "now" and try not to take it offensively, because you will run into this situation a lot.

I my style of dresses are sac and fox. and my beadwork is i think sioux, i'm really not sure on the beadwork because it was a gift from my stepmom. My dress is sac and fox, because thats what i have mostly grew up around. I'm from the Stroud and Cushing area in Oklahoma, and the tribe that is in that area is sac and fox and since i grow up around and learning about the sac and fox tribe, i just felt that it should stay with my in whatever i do, like i go to Native American Ceremonies, and they ways i follow are sac and fox.
