I have noticed that the jingles on the traditional Ojibway/Anishinabe jingle dresses are spaced almost right next to each other. The dresses tend to be a lot more plain when compared with the contemporary jingle dresses.

Yes is good to carry a purse when jingle dancing for the tobacco, etc etc. In northern Canada there are many elder women jingle dress dancers and many belong to a jingle dress society. They all carry a purse or bag of some sort.07-30-2003, 04:43 PM
