Instant email notification is OFF!

For those of us that use the instant email notification, it is really a pain that they have stopped coming. I don't know how anyone else uses it but I use it to see if anyone answers back to a post of mine. It is also nice to get the email so that you will know what was posted while you were offline. Without them it is like nothing is happening and noone has been online since your last post. Please look into it. thanx.

pathwalker, I had a similar experience,and ghostrider told me to go to internet options and delete cookies,delete temp files and clear history and to also go to usercp into edit options and click reset field at the bottom and then to find the email notification and check it and then click save changes.He also said to make sure Windows had all updates. His last piece of advice was if all else fails find a good 2x4 and hit computer.
Not to sure about the 2x4,but try all the others.

Thanx for the advice and the laugh but there was a prob cause I wasn't the only one not getting them, spent all day today getting rid of the ones that had backed up in the system...that is what happens when you are subscribed to over a 100 threads...lol...

I saw that ghost was on here earlier, but I did not see him post.

Mine's working. Have you changed anything lately on your usercp? There's a link there for notifications is why I ask ,thinking it might have accidently been changed somehow.

Nope, everything is correct and I am still not getting them, I don't know why, last night I got some that were backed up in the system and then they quit again. It could be msn but I don't know. Paul could you check it out again just in case. Thanx.

I am getting a ton of them now, I think it is MSN, When I logged on this AM, I had 112 of them in my inbox..lol...then they just kept commin. I think I need to unsubscribe to a few of them...lol...I am still waiting for them to catch up to the present time. Is this the sign of a true powwows.com addict? Is there a 12 step program for it? J/K

Is MSN your only email server? If so possibly set up something on yahoo,excite or gmail. I have switched everyting to gmail and have never missed getting,whereas on some of the others they will bounce something back, or misdirect to spam/junk filters. Not saying gmail is perfect, but noticing less trouble with it. If you wish to try gmail it is still by invitation only,but you can send me by PM an email address and I will send you an invitation for gmail.

HEy, Timber, yeah I only use msn, but I just got an email from Paul that said they should be working again and this did happen once before, I wrote back and asked him what the prob was, like is it msn, powwows or something else. He hasnt had a chance to write back yet. I have heard of this gmail thing, yes I would apreciate an invitation. That way I will know if it is man, but I don't do yahoo, had probs with it in the past. Got a nasty little virus from there and uninstalled it. Probably wouldnt happen again but you know what they say "once bitten, twice shy."
