Why can't I IM

so I haven't been able to use the instant messenger here ever since I upgraded to DSL

yes I surf (this site) with hubz

yes I have that javascript thingy

I don't even see a button anywhere on any of the pages...if I click on "who's online", I can view profiles, but no IM....whasupwitdat?

Only thing I know to try is go down to the bottom of the page you are on now...... under the blue box that says "posting rules" there is a box that says "powwows.com without hubz" or "powwows.com with hubz"...... make sure it is on "powwows.com with hubz". Sure hope that does it.

i can't find it either... i assumed it was a Safari problem but it was right after i went to DSL too, so maybe that's it.

Well............. only other thing I can think of is a problem I had when I reformatted my system. It made all things wonky and I had to get hubz by going thru Mozilla Firefox. Well I got tired of doing that and was looking for anything to help..... well it wasn't until my msn messenger gave me an error message that I needed to upgrade my Internet Explorer (which I then did) was I able to get hubz to work again. Other than that ...........I would have no clue.... sorry... I know how frustrating it is.

Oh....... and when hubz is there........... it is on the left towards the top where it always was and looks the same as it did.

ok...the spot where the hubz button is supposed to be is a "broken link" blank box with a little red X...even when I refresh the "pw's.com with hubz" option, it's still X'ed out...

and you know how those tech support minimum wage goons don't know diddly...last time I called them it took one of the first level girls 45 minutes to talk me through a simple reboot of my system...sheesh! LOL

Down at the bottom of each page on left side,about an inch up from bottom,right above a line that starts off home community is a box that will say Powwows.com with Hubz or Powwows.com without Hubz.If it reads without hubz you can click box beside it for drop down and switch it.
I'm going thru Internet Explorer right now and have no problems seeing it.One thing we see at work is making sure you have,and keep everything updated,keeping your cookies cleared,temp files cleared and history cleared.

the red X is at the top left corner of the pages where the IM box should be...

What version of Windows ? You running AOL 9.0 by any chance ? Dialup,DSL or Cable Modem ?? Firewalls ?

yes...winxp firewall is active
and it's not my pop up blocker I've tried this with it turned off as well and still no IM

Try turning off the Firewall and going thru Firefox or Opera browser to see what happens. Sometimes DSL and certain ISP's like AOL like to have conflicts,and Internet Explorer has had better days,and I still waiting for IE to have a great day.
You having problems doing anything else ?
