real natives
real natives should do every thing to stop bush and get him out of office he is one bad guy thats why he shouldn't even be in office but what could we say the only reason he's in there is because he cheated to get their..
and the other day i seen a photo with a native. and it said
the white man made many of promises and they broke them
all but they kept one they promised to take our land and
they did and thats a shame so we really need to become
one tribe unde one nation what do you think
so we could have all our land back and live in peace
and be one with mother earth.
and thats why we need to try to get him out of office even though he says it's for the better of our land but really he's try to become a dictator like hilter what do you think!!!!

I'm of legal age to vote, but I didn't vote for Bush Sr., or Bush Jr.! Yes, George Jr. doesn't care about us natives, and neither did his father. As long as a "Pigment Challenged" person is running this country, we will never fully get our respect.
They didn't care then, and they don't care now. As I was reading this post, I decided to quote words from my great, great, great grandfather:
Friends: My name is Chief Bone-Necklace. I am head chief of the Lower Yanktonais tribe. My tongue is not forked. I speak the truth, and offer you clean hands. This country belongs to us, and this great river (Missouri) is my own....
My fair land is all turned over as by a whirlwind. No more can our warriors plant and fish in safety by the wooded brookside, nor my young men hunt the buffalo on the plains. When I see the smoke of the white man's trains rise from the plains, and find a great wagon-road over my hunting grounds, it makes my heart sad and I think my Great Father (meaning the President of the U.S.) has forgotten his red children.
I look out on the face of my native rivers and plains, and I love them well. I also love the whites, and do want to fight them; but I cannot hold my young men from going to war when they see the game driven from their country....
Let us live unmolested in our own plains, and hunting grounds. I never planted in my life, but I think I can learn if my Great Father will but help me; but my people would rather pursue the hunting of game. This is our way of living; planting is yours....
I hope that these words will reach the ears of my Great Father, that he may know the wants of his great red children.
*Chief Bone-Necklace had a wonderful reputation as an orator and deserved it. This was his great address to the Northwestern Indian Commission in 1886. It is one of the classics in South Dakota history.
You see, they didn't care about our people then, and they don't now. These so-called Presidents, usually turned a deaf ear to our ancestors, and today they are still doing the same thing, to us, the descendants. True, we should unite. But if that is to happen, we need to start now. Any ideas?MITAKU OYASIN

That is a great example, but we can't put the blame on one man. I am not defending Mr. Bush, but every President has a cabinet and the government runs with the House of Representatives, the Senate and Congress...........and let's not forget the lobbyists. He seeks advice from every person in his office, that includes high ranking officers of the military and let's not forget the CIA, the FBI, and other entities of his office. I think every four years when a new president is elected, people always have a beef with them no matter what, even if they are doing something right. But no one man is perfectly intelligent to make good decisions. We natives also don't agree with our own leaders. They also are in the same situation as Mr. Bush, they make decisions regarding monies, health care, rights, you name it....it comes across their desks. I too am a veteran, I vote, so I can back up my claim. I am not wicked, but very opinionated. I believe your chance to get Mr. Bush out of office is near, so go to your nearest election spot and vote for a new person, whom we will disagree with again. So, sarcastically, we will never be satisfied. Politics is a tough issue, believe me, I know. I think the right thing to do is become more educated and knowledgeable, so we can take care of our familes for generations to come. Who else will do that for us, but ourselves. Yes, you all have a right to disagree with me, if you want, feel free, but we can either continue living in the past and say we were oppressed or fight the power by becoming educated. In that sense, we wouldn't rely on federal aide such as welfare or foodstamps. I think the problem, is our own. If only we could just make people see the power of knowledge, we wouldn't be blaming being red on others. Yes, natives don't get the recognition we deserve, just like Mexicans, Blacks, and Asians. I personally don't care for Mr. Bush, what he's done is done. Now all we have to do as Americans is move on to another phase in life, to another President and hope he does a good job. Accepting the inevitable is sometimes better even for our own best interest.
Remember, I'm not lashing anyone's opinion, this is mine alone. that's my thought for today.Fall down 7 times, get up 8. MY FAMOUS WORDS.

I was falling all over myself: after reading what you had to say. True, you have the right to voice your opinion, and since that right is given to you, I will voice mine. I
you for thinking that "ACCEPTING THE INEVITABLE IS SOMETIMES BETTER EVEN FOR OUR OWN BEST INTEREST!"
But, I am not the kind of woman to just accept things, when I know they are wrong. I am tired of our people just letting s**t happen to us, even if we feel like we can not stop it. It is time that we stand up, and fight. If Martin Luther King, Jr. could do it, then why not us? I am not someone who just sits around waiting for someone else, to get things done. I make things happen, and if I have to risk my life in doing good for the natives of this country, then so be it!!!!!!!! I am not afraid to stand up, or challenge those who try to get in my way. Do something for your ancestors memories, if not for yourself.MITAKU OYASIN

by ZamboWell my friend is half white-half Dine/Comanche/Apache/Cherokee, really he looks to most folks like a blue-eyed white dude with a very good tan, anyway I was talking to him one day and asked if he would try to enroll and join the Navajo nation.
He told me no and said that he didn't want to he...-
