    So I might be going back to Active Duty pretty soon, and I was wondering how to find out if there's any indian doings going on in the Fleet(around the bases, etc). If I can get it my way, hopefully I'll be with the FMF for a bit.

    are you a corpsman? I was a corpsman and tried desperately to go with FMF. good luck, you are in my thoughts.

      Yeah I'm a Doc... You couldn't go FMF? Man... If I couldn't go FMF, I'd de-enlist and join the Marines.

        yeah, they kept telling me that there were no female billets availalbe at the time. sucked.
        oh well, old news now, I got out in 98.

            Fomer Marine now serving in the National Guard. Been to Iraq and been on the border. In Iraq there was nothing for Native Americans. Others seemed to look at me strange when I would pull out my pipe or do smudgings before missions. They almost wouldn't let me bring home my pipe or my medicine bag. I argued that they wouldn't take others crosses or bibles away. Hopefully you'll be in a unit that has lots of Natives, they may be more likely to arrange Native doings for you then. Good luck
