Holay...one year has passed by since my retiring from the military. It seems like dream at times but I look at the pix I took, stuff I gathered throughout the years, watch the news and see whats going on in the middle east and they show some place I was actually on patrol at and tell my Family, I remember that place cause we ran patrols thru there.

I just got my disability rating recently from the Veterans Administration. 50% is where I stand. Now I can truly say my time with the military is done. Now, its time to really kick back and draw my retirement and disability pension.

Thank you, NSB for all your years served. I will always see you as a warrior, soldier, defender and the reason we can say we live in a country where we can say what we want.
I hold my Eagle fan up to you.
Why must I feel like that..why must I chase the cat?

The bad thing about being disabled and on the military pension is the U.S. Gov. And how they play politics with the money owed to its retiree's and others.
But so far so good, see you at bingo or a casino.sigpic

Day One of Earning the Title, Marine
On this day back in 1986, I started recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Let me assure you, it wasn't easy.
No regrets and I would do it all over again.

On this day 30 years ago I went to Marine bootcamp in San Diego. It seems like yesterday now. I remember getting off the jet, getting instructions to shut up and double time to the military bus waiting for us crazy enough to sign up for the Marines.
We didn't sleep for the first 48 hours cause of all the things we had to do, like medical, dental, uniform pick up, to say I wasn't tired would be a lie. I was exhausted plus, I remember the first meal at breakfast. I didn't even get to eat mine. Time was always a factor in the Marines. Never ever be late for any formation or in the wrong uniform. And always have dog tags on. And keep your mouth shut.

I was with the 1st Marine Division and my Brother Lee was with the 2nd Marine Division. I miss my Brother a lot. He has been gone since 1998. Semper Fidelis Marines!!!
I will be heading to San Diego to MCRD to celebrate my 30th year anniversary. I look forward to seeing southern California again. Its been awhile.
