When going to a powwow....Do you choice which powwow to attend by whose the Head Staff??

Not always , but sometimes ! Especially if I have family or good friends on "staff" , then it makes it more fun ! I'll always look to see who is the Head Singer or Drum group. Then I look at Head Dancers . But sometimes I just like a particular dance and I go just because ! LOL

Ya, I always catch myself looking to see who is Head Staff at a pw, but I lean more to see who is the Host Drum at a pw....like this wkend......Northern Cree and YB are hosting Crow Fair and since Northern Cree is my favorite drum........I am definetly going to attend, so I can record....hehehehe

Yes, I do. I look to see who the host drum (s) is too.

I don't go often anymore, but most powwows in the Midwest tend to have incestuous and cyclical staffs that rotate over time.

One dancer or drum group becomes the "hot" group and you see them, everywhere, toting their kids around. Fifteen years later, you see the kids on staff...

As everyone knows everyone, you get the same crowds.

Definitely! I check to see if I'm on the list, then I go!

Otherwise, I can't seem to stay more than an hour.
