Shane Zotigh, a Kiowa Fancy Dancer, was shot and killed early Wednesday morning.

Although I did not know Shane, I am deeply sadened by the passing of this life. My thoughts and prayers are with the Zotigh family and friends.

You know, I'm not sure. Maybe, I think. They have a large family out of Lawton, Ok. Some of his relatives came in today. I'll see them tomorrow. I'll pass on your condolences.

Right now we're just all in shock...me and my family.. Shane was a very close friend to all of us. My brother and dad who danced with him all the time when we were all in Cali growing up. He was like a brother to us. Especially my brother who was followed by him going into the adult category, they were really close...best buds. We are very sad to hear this news. We just want to send out our condolesences out to all that loved and now miss Shane... I don't know what else to say,,...but to Ben and the family we are really sorry and share the pain that you all are feeling, you are not alone. Thanks so much for your kind words. I will see to it that his family gets this. Right now there will be a memorial on Monday and then Ben and the family will go back to Oklahoma for the funeral and burial.

Shane Zotgh

He was murdered (shot to death) in Long Beach,
CA, by a person or persons unknown.

Here's an update. One arrest has been made. They are still looking for another shooter.

The memorial service in Long Beach was really beautiful. If you were there with us, I'm sure you'll agree. If you weren't, just know that everyone could feel all your warm thoughts.
