The standard "Cheyenne-style hard sole" moc is still the style, although is doesn't have to have a hard sole anymore. What people have are mocs with an upper and a sole, made out of different stuff. For example, some people use a natural hide for the upper, deer, elk, etc. Others use canvas or other strong material. Soles are made of a rawhide or of a tanned hide. Decoration is still beadwork. Some dancers go through soles so fast that they don't attach them the traditional way (sewing inside out and turning) but just sew them on the outside. does that help?
