When becomeing a Gourd Dancer do you make your own Gourd and Fan and stuff, or is it given to you by the person who welcomes you in to the gourd dancing?

I was given my first gourd but had my own fans. My wife made my sash and blanket.
I made some of my other gourds and was gifted some others. I have made some for others as well.
I would say that you could make one or purchase one if you would like.
