Just wanted to let you all know that I won't be around for over a week. Going to a nice dance in McAllen TX. They asked me to help as their AD. Gary Kodaseet is the MC. IF, anyone needs a dance this weekend and can make it this is a nice dance to have fun.

Any dance with Mr. Kodaseet as MC has got to be a good one. I've always enjoyed his knowledgeable presence. I wish I could have gone to that dance.Scott Zotigh

Thanks, Scott. Maybe next year we can dance together.
My family danced right over the bridge at Progresso.
Gary is a good friend and yes his knowledge/ experience is very vast. I was the AD, But, he was the greatest. I know that while he is there that the Gourd dance will run in the right way.BOB

I have seen Navaho, Comanche and Lumbee chicken dancers.
Anybody wanna' venture out and explain this dance? Perhaps the who (tribe/s), what, where, whys and how?-

by elbahanaI have read someplace that the Stomp Dance originates in the south-east, but is there not a more northern version of the dance as well? Danced by the Ojibwe and other tribes around there? If so, could someone describe it me? x
