  • 7th annual gourd dance in Indiana

    Dear Gourd Dancers,

I have posted the information for the 7th annual White Star Gourd Dance Society dance in November. Here is a link:

Eric Lassiter is our head singer again. All gourd dance groups and dancers are welcome. There will be a meal and intertribal dancing in the evening.

With the proceeds from the dance we gave $1000 to the Kiowa Education fund in 2003. Please e-mail us at [email protected] for a flyer.

The Cheyenne-Arapaho, Comanche and Ponca also have claimed at one time or another that the gourd dance and/or songs are a part of their history. Any Comment?
