for peyote japenese (delica) is best, for everything else japenese seed. They are incredibly uniform inside and out.

definately go with cut beads, esp. for a grass dance outfit. i would suggest czech beads all the way, but i guess japanese would be better for a uniform peyote stitch.

I find the Czech beads are the best for general beading, the Japanese ones seem to be cheap, the outside size is usually good but I think the inside diameter is inconsistent. Cut beads have a flat side on the bead which makes them shiny. I would recommend shipwreck beads they are cheaper than crazy crow and have more of a selection.

czhech beads are the most common. But if you can find some japanese beads they are more uniformed and the size doesn't vary like the czhech beads do.

I'm not much of a beader, but I think you want cut beads. They're very uniform in size and make it easier to make a good looking piece of peyote stitch. Looks like Crazy Crow has them in Czech and old time German (sz 09, 10,11,12), which is mostly a difference in color choice.

All that said, I really love these... the color is awesome and is what I'd use for my brighter colored grass outfits! Nocbay's Charolette cut colors
come in sz 13 (and sz 13 only).

Are Delica Beads a Good Idea?
    by The Rat
Long time since I've been able to post anything to Powwows :-)

I'm relatively new to beading, and have decided to fully bead my next fancy feather cape/apron/sidetab/cuff set. I'll be appliqueing [sp?] the entire thing because a.) the design is fairly intricate and b.) two-needle applique...

    What beads are you using?
    by TallmanFL
Most good beadworkers know that you can't make fine beadwork without starting with quality materials.

These days a lot of people seem to be using transparent beads with a lot of shine to them. So lets hear about what type of beads you are using, (size, style, Czech, French, other?)...

How many beads in rows for lazy stitch?
    by Broken Arrow
    WD's personal recommendation is

Consider a pattern which will require 11,13,15,17,19 or 21 beads.
All rows seven beads that is two rows of seven beads for an 11 or 13 bead pattern and three rows for a 15,17,19 or 21 bead pattern?

    Than there...

What size beads do you use????
    by spottedeagle
Just curious what size beads everyone uses on most of their work. I'm thinking about ordering some 13/0 Charlottes to use on my own beadwork. But I've been using alot of 12/0 seed beads lately.
