  • How thick is it?

Im makin a grass outfit for my friend.. hes a tall guy, and Im using ribbon for the whole thing, I was just wondering when I put the ribbon on, I think it might look a lil boney if I just use one row of ribbon, do any of you dancers have a grass outfit with the fringies made completely of ribbon??
If you do how many layers of ribbon did you use, I want to get a nice effect to it, and dont want it to look boney.
This guy is pretty tall, and I dont want him to look real long in the outfit... you know what I mean?

I was thinkin two rows and brick layering the ribbon.. two or three rows?? what do you think? what have you tried? what looks best??
NO MY EYES REALLY DONT LOOK LIKE THAT........ THATS ME AS A BRATZ DOLL ;)

Taller dudes can get away with longer ribbons/yarns. Dunno about going overboard with thickness. Don't wanna end up looking like the Snuffalupagus out there, ya know?

I look a fuller look with my ribbons, so I do a row and a half. I do this by staggering the ribbons so they overlap a bit (maybe a 20-30% overlap look... I dont' measure it all out ;)). My sweetheart uses the same technique on a lot of fancy shawls. Looks just right to my eyes and dances pretty good too.

Eagleclan, I used between two and four layers of ribbon through out my outfit. I think I used 3/8 inch ribbon can't really remember, but I wanted a fuller look. At the moment the outfit is 3/4 of the way finished and I've probably spent a good $100 or more on my ribbon alone. So its a bit more expensive.
