NOC Bay has kits that are a lot nicer, and they are almost always cheaper than Crazy Crow.

A complete source of quality supplies for making Native American Indian crafts, Native American Indian cultural arts, and dance clothing. Beads, beading supplies, jewelry findings, feathers, leather, and kits focus on materials and information to make both traditional and contemporary Native American crafts and powwow dance clothing. Free instructional Learning Circle downloads and videos are available on this site.

That's funny. What happened to getting them from your men elders and learning from there? Or am I just old fashioned or completely out of the loop as to bustle making. My family makes their own, or else their men relatives make them for their sons, grandsons, etc.

I bought the feathers but the rest is made by me. I am being taught from a very close and respected family friend.

I've knida adopted my friends and you guys as my elders . believe it or not you guys teach me alot(:Cry it's a kodak moment)

                so errrrrrr.... yeah
I rarely buy kits anyway. I was taught b someone that your regalia is supposed to represent you , and if you get your regalia from a store , it's not representing you. all the kits I buy I always change something , like black horsehair on feather tips instead of blonde . a yarn base instead of the ohh-so-typical rope base . amber hairpipes instead of white . . you know things like that .

I am going to buy the kit but the stuff I plan on changing on it are to many to list.

That's cool. I never realized you could buy kits like that. I guess I never thought about it. I live in Oklahoma and that is an advantage because you get more than enough input on your regalia....sometimes even if you don't ask for it. LOL
Maybe you could post some pictures of some of your finished products, who knows...you might get some orders and get a chance to become an elder yourself. Who knows...on pow wows.com all things are possible. (end of commercial) LOL

naaaa I don't think I could be an elder .. I'm only 13,(going on 14 in a few days ) . anyone can buy kits from crazy crow . I don't know how it's traditionally done but that's how we do it around here. I'm going to show some of my stuff on the 'yes I said the "F" word " thread in general crafts. I've never posted a picture there but I am as soon as I find the disposable camera that it came on . (igot so many it's not even funny)

I watched the video in the gallery and I had a question.

My questions was about the guy in what appeared to be a Crow Feather Bustle. In all...
