    ^ yea,

there's a ton of different hornbills anywhere from the size of a bluejay, then larger than a turkey or so. The larger asian hornbills are the ones people really want, the typical white feather with the black bar. Hard to find, near impossible, and have all these expensive export and import applications, since there all endangered or on the CITES lists.

Then Africa has a ton of hornbills, but there all smaller. You often see them on ebay all the time, since you can buy em for pets and such for like 700 bucks. Silvery cheeked, trumpeter, red bills.... these are the hornbills you see on ebay.

2010...hornbills and red black cockatoos are out.....and white and yellow black cockatoos are gonna be in. lol

I have heard hornbills live in parts of Africa, Southeast Asia and Indonesia. I wonder if there are any differences in the tail feathers. I have seen the white-black-white tail feathers. I also seem to have seen black-white-black tail feathers as well.

    Anybody have information about this?

what type of hornbill you talking about? Some of them are protected under endangered species act- so purchase, trade, possession is a no-no here in the U.S.

Tuffie...Only because before when there was no interest in them, you could get them on ebay or from bird breeders who would just throw them away.Nowadays, you can still go on ebay to find them, but they're gonna cost you plenty.
If you don't care about such things....you can probably get a set of imit. Hornbills from reallegalfeathers.com.They make nice ones, and would be easier to replace than the real ones.I think they'll make a real nice substitute until you can get some real ones.
    good luck...and keep smilin'1

I'm starting my first fan and I want to use macaw feathers. Where do I find them though? I've heard of the macaw feather distribution project (started by dr. reyman), but from what I could find, they are no longer taking requests. I'm skittish about just buying some online through a google search because...

I just opened my big plastic feather box to pick out some feathers for a new fan. As I started going through the different prepared bunches, I noticed that a "critter" has eaten its way through my best feathers.

It must have been a connoiseur of feathers,...
