difference in crow hop -vs- double beat???
Ive watched and I cant tell the distinction between dance styles of the crow hop and double beat?? are they the same??

i figured that they were...but I have seen dancers do the exact same step for both dances , e.g. a hop with varied movements. in fact ive seen some dancers not change it up after the 3rd song...1st- straight song, 2nd- double beat, and 3rd- crow hop. hmmmOriginally posted by lbgood View PostReally they are totally different and not even similar in dance/movement, and the songs are way different as well. Well from my perspective, the crow hop to me, means you imitate the way a crow moves.. aiyee, am I just getting my foot stuck in my mouth?

There is a difference between a Crow Hop and a Foot Slide.....
Many announcers ask for a Crow Hop..And get a Foot Slide..Although the original is the Double Beat or the Crow Hop....originated among the Crow people. There is a difference....In the beat and the style....A Northern Traditional...02-21-2007, 01:32 AM -
recently i've noticed that fancy dancers are given the double beat crow hop to dance to where they dance "crow style" crow hop... as opposed to the single beat where they dance more "fancy style" crow hop including more jumping around, footwork, and movements.
