Like I said, I'm just starting out with traditional dancing. My dad never danced but he made leggings for me so I'd like to be able to wear them. There are some local powwows I can go to, but the only big name one near me is the Denver MarchComment

So , I think the first thing you should do is go to some of the smaller powwows and watch the other tradish. Maybe try to introduce yourself to some of the dancers. Try to meet some around your age. Be respectful !Just hang out and see if anyone needs any help. There are books and videos available also. Crazy Crow , Noc Bay , a lot of suppliers have them. I made my first set of leggins when I was about 24. Started dancing about that same time. Looked pitiful for quite a few years !(some say I still do ! LOL ) Built a better outfit in 1994 and have stuck with it ! My goal was to be able to dance well enough to fit in where ever I went to powwow ! It didn't take long , couple years of powwowing hard , learning songs , meeting dancers , getting in trouble !
