Pawhuska, Ilonshka!!!!!!!!

I just came in from Pawhuska, and it was a great dance. It rained every day, was hot/muggy, and I had a great time. I was able to make new friends, and get together with old friends/family.

There were quite a few from each district Thurs afternoon and just built throughout the week. I think we had a very nice turn out. I think that perhaps the rain may have kept some from coming but not many. We ate well, we danced a lot and we visited even more. I just want to say A Ho to all my friends(new and old) as well as all my relations. You all helped make this year a success and my stay very pleasant.

I would like to see just who all WAS there. I got to visit, dance and eat with my Friend Osagesooner. Who else was at the dance?

Hey, I was there too! My first trip to OK in many, many years and my first time at Pawhuska. I was there for Friday nite dance session, and both sessions on Saturday! I agree Cherosage it was awesome. The singing was great! I especially enjoyed the women singers. You don't see that kind of singing out east :-( Since I didn't really know anyone, I stayed in the comfort of Bartlesville. That was kind of a blessing since I was so muddy each night that I could go back to the hotel and do some laundry :-) But even though I was pretty much on my own at Pawhuska, it was a good time!

I want to mention the family who I stayed with. I really appreciate staying with Kenny and Mary(Easly) Avery. They were very generous to let me put my camper in their driveway. Mary made me eat toooo much as I also was invited to eat with many others. I would like to give special thanks to the Hamilton family, Otto had invited me to come eat with them. My thanks to his Mom, Dad and family for allowing me to share with them.

It was very good to see and visit with Milton Cunningham. I was glad to see him Tail again.
