Wakan Tanka please have compassion on me.
OK Niji we are running a train with red over yellow at this powwow.
Tha Tribe has many different Nations of singers on their drum. They sound good together. I think there may be some nations that you may have missed. I believe some are Hochunk and Oneida.
If you are talking about what tribe has the best singers, the Sioux are actually are Lakota, Dakota and Nakoda. I do believe the Hochunk are also a part of this linguistic group. Are the Assiniboine a part also? The Stoney Nation are also Nakoda.
The Cree people are also different dialects and from different areas. Plains Cree, Swampy Cree, and also the Oji-Cree. The Oji-Cree are self explained Nation.
And........... what Blackfoot Nation are you speaking of? There is one in Canada called the Siksika nation.
The Ojibwe people also have differences. There is the Saulteaux people, The Ojibwe, Chippewa, Mississauga, Algonquin. The Meskwaki people are also closely related as are the Odawa and Potawatomi. Another tribe associated with the Ojibwe are the Otoe who primarily sing southern. Which area are you speaking of?
We have to know the answer to these questions before truly answering your poll. Be more specific please.
We can't generalize each Nation you have listed. Each tribe has excellent singers.

My friends from Fort Belknap, MT are "Assiboine Sioux" and speak a variation of Dakota. As opposed to the "Assiniboine Cree". So I guess the answer is "yes" and "no".

Its a simple question Kiwehnizii.......no need to complicate things. We all know the complications associated with breaking down a tribes relations. But come on......you seem to be attempting to express your intelligence.....and we appreciate it.....but....no need to bring in borders and all the crap and trying to confuse everybody. LOL
Actually, I didn't vote. I am tempted to vote Ojib, cuz that's what I am. But.......... remember when Stoney Park guys (Stoney) were young? Dang them guys could sing. Red Bull (Cree) back in da day? Whitefish Bay (Ojibwe) in the 80's? And who can forget the Scabbyrobes (Blackfeet) back then? Red Nation singers (Dakota), Badlands.
Dang, how can a person pick with all these guys way back and all these young guys now?

Its all good old man.........ummmm why not have like a mini tournament with all your favourtire drums. Flip a coin heads or tails and then you'll come out with a fav.
As for me I picked Ojib. not just cuz Im an Ojibway but just the fact that our nation does have excellent singers.
eyabay, battle river, bear creek, midnite express (well..mostly ojib. anyways), northern wind, whitefish bay, young kingbird, pipestone, snake island, little otter....Cree boys aint that far behind either.
THERE ARE MORE CREE DRUM GROUPS OUT THERE THAN ANY OTHER TRIBE AND CHAMPION DRUM GROUPS ARE MOSTLY CREE ANYWAY OR PART CREE such as HIGH NOON, NORHTERN & SOUTHERN CREE, Little Island Cree, Bear creek, Wild Horse,
I voted to call us a nation but i don't really agree. I believe that we are still tribe. Our Nation is Haudenosaunee. We are people of Turtle Island. Are we cutting our-self's because of the immigrants that call them self Americans. I'm just making sure were not. It seems like we are doing better then...
It's not usually my way to go to others about concerns for my tribe but on this on I need your input. For those of you who don't know about the Tunica-Biloxi were a small tribe in central Louisiana. Some years back it was decided to open a casino on Reservation land. It was a big success...
