I do a lot of recording of Native drums both northern and southern. I also see a lot of singers peter out only after a few song. These guys have put all they have into those few songs. There done after that until later in the day. The reason is that they push out too much air when they sing. They actually go into a form of oxygen deprovation (out of breath). Then I have seen some who can put out the tunes all day, then do a 49 all night. Why???? Proper air control.Don't ask me what I think about something unless you want a truthful anwser. It may not be the anwser you are looking for.

by ScarFaceCome on there's nothing wrong with a little friendly competition among drum groups. After all most of all groups know and get along pretty well with eachother. There may be some exceptions but that just adds to the contest. Now I don't want to hear from you winer's about how "real powwow singing...
