Ever glance at a CD and to your amazement your music is right there before your very eyes? Your music available at the press of a button. Mind you.....you never agreed or gave permission to some recording company or an individual to do so? Even worse the quality of the recording is weak at best and the whole layout of the CD just basically sucks.....Although theres your name or a groups name in bold face on the CD......Oh yeah your pissed right? Well i've experienced that and I know a few groups who were rooked as well......You get tired of hearing about it too.....
So wuz da solution? Some folks just wanna get downright neanderthal about it....Some shrug their shoulders and laugh and ignore it. Some sue....Keeping in mind litigation and all the White tape you have to cut thru will keep you busy for a while....
Sneaky people (and I can drop some names, but I don't like to advertise) abound when it comes to music.....Wether they outright steal it, or twist "legal jargon" to hide stipulations and crooked clauses that when explained in average Joe terms (no pun intended Joe...) makes one speak with a crooked tongue at best (imagine hearing that in muh best Jack Crabb voice!)..So do your homework Boys!
Sooooo.....My take on the download phenomenon, well....I ain't to keen on it.....Even if folks are paying.....Who's getting the cash.....The groups??? (have my "Otay Banky" face on....)
That's why I recommend purchasing a recording directly from the group....As Joe said it helps to reduce expenses; i.e. gas, tolls, lodging, etc.....You enjoy the music git it from da group....

Hey there Coyot_In_The_House I agree with you, that is why I do that too, I have bought cd's at every powwow for years now and so that they do not get damaged I did copy them to my zdrive so that I can listen to them and not worry about ruining a cd that gets scratched by someone in the house!

this is funny to me.....what happened to music is to be shared by the people???....only until money is involved, right???.....LOL!!!.....sheeeeiiit......maybe it's why I don't bother singing anymore.....and by the way, I do share my music....regardless of who or what it is.....and you can't tell me you don't do it, 'cuz you and I both know that's straight up BS......and FYI, I used to go up to groups and buy my CD's, but with the amount of egos and BS out there, it's not worth it.....gone are the days when the singer would actually thank you and look at you, shake your hand......now it's just 15 bucks!!!...20 bucks!!!.....I've seen it with drums I've sang with and had it happened to me....everything is so inpersonal now.....anyway.....my opinion....this is how I roll.....Last edited by 50cal; 03-28-2009, 08:32 AM.sigpic
