They are both good singers, it is up to the individual what style they like in a backup singer. I prefer smokeytown ladies' powerful sound, complimenting the men very well, they've won a few canary contests in their time :D"Gaa wiin daa-aangoshkigaazo ahaw enaabiyaan gaa-inaabid"

If you have been around powwowing for a long time, when the smokeytown ladies first started singing, the eldest daughter sang by herself for the first couple of years and still sounded excellent doing it all by herself, she is on a couple of their early recordings.
