Oh God here we go again, Lemme tell you before them "know it alls" attack you, there probaly is no website with songs and words, especially southern songs. Dont EVER ask for kiowa songs on here, they are around here and will attack. Just do what every other person seems to do and get some tapes from somewhere and learn em and sing em. Do whatever floats your boat. Im just trying to help you out right now, Im sure you mean well, but just thought Id get to you first before they get their claws on you. Oh yea, good luck

Well, I will add a few lines. LOL
SBZ is right. Just ask around, there are singers that are open to helping you out. They will make a tape for you, sing for you, etc. Just ask, not on the internet, though. LOL And they usually do it for free, or offer them some tobacco.

The way i learn all my songs is to go to pow wow, and if I like a song, I'll offer tobacco to the lead singer to teach me the song. Either that or I buy tapes.

                Dance Progression
                by HeyDad!!
I know that like other songs there are slow medium and fast songs. When singing these songs how should one proceed? For example say your singing 7 or 8 sets, should the first and second be slow, the 3rd slow - medium, 4-6 medium, and 7 and 8 fast?

                Thanks....

                Ponca Songs
                by traddancer553
A friend asked me the other day if i knew anything about Ponca songs and the order they have to be sung. He said that he was told that certain songs had to be sung together in a special order. I know very little about Ponca songs. Does anyone here know about this?

                Trot Dance Songs
                by Fat Albert
Here is a question for anyone who wants to chew on it... How does a person correctly dance the trot songs? Why are these songs done the way they are? Are there tribal differences? Have a good one and enjoy the holidays!

Where can I find traditional lyrics?
                by wlvrne
I was wondering if anyone can tell me where I can find the lyrics/words to traditional songs used at pow wows? Lakota is preferred, but I would also like others for my pow wow is very inter-tribal. I'm mainly looking for basic songs for grand-entry, veterans and honor songs. I have searched the internet...
