LOL Sorry, pow wow peoples, I am still recovering from pow wow hangover. Even though we did not have to dance at night, we danced two songs for each contest session and then the cloth special....so I danced 5 songs in one afternoon......not an easy task for someone my age. ha ha
Pow wow was pretty good, lots of different winners in some categories. No dancers judged......personally I did not know alot of the judges, so you just had to dance your hardest.
the singing was awesome. Battle River came on Saturday, due to extenuating circumstances, but when they showed they put out some good music. The drums were excellent. Everyone kept commenting on the caliber of singing we were dancing to. No one got a bad song, and the songs were all appropriate for the individual category. So, it was not as big as I thought it would be, but the dancing and the singing were really great. The specials on Saturday were pretty cool to watch. Daryl Jack danced well worth the $1000 he won as did Tonch. They also had smoke dance exhibition and that was pretty nice, too.
I think one improvement would be to have dancing at night or specials each night because everyone really came out for the specials....but too much time on one's hands has its good and bad outcomes. ha ha I don't know about the party scene, heard rumors, but evidently a good time was had by all. LOL
I am thankful for my grandparents, my parents, my brothers, my aunties and uncles, my children, my companion and all of those who influenced me to be strong and proud of being who I am and where I come from. Knowledge is power
