PowWow in Cahokia, Il , September

I'm new here & don't know much of anything about PowWows, except that I'd like to go to one to see the dancing. I was wondering about a PowWow that is being held at Cahokia Mounds, IL, September 10-12. Aside from the regular info
that's on the website, I wanted to know what you all think. Has anyone been there before, or plan to go this Sept.? I'd just like to know more before I make the trip. Thanks.:)

Cahokia Mounds

I was there a couple of years back and I had a blast...everyone was absolutely great!!! However, I haven't heard about the dance for awhile, I could be incorrect but I think they stopped having it for awhile, maybe they are having it again which would be great because it was a nice dance got to see a lot of good friends, great dancing, nice hospitality, good singing it was a good time.

Thanks! The website said something about tribes from around the country are going to be there, and the dancing was NorthernDrum and Southern Drum. I looked around this site to find info about that, but couldn't find anything. But thanks for the info!:supperhap

I also have been to this powwow since the first one. I emailed the commitee and asked some questions and was not happy with the info I was given.. A new committee has taken over, the st louis indian center had always been in charge of it before.. I dont want to say anything bad about the committee that took it over but my family will be going to another one in the area. Hope it goes well for them..:)
