Give me a PM some time. We live in Sedalia. My Wife is Lipan. We have a good friend in Springfield and he is White Mountain Apache.

I would like to invite you to our dance in Sedalia, July 16-18 at the Fair grounds.

Youcan also call the Heart of America Indian Center in KC. Haskell has dances and events throughout the year. Haskell is in Lawrence KS. Quapaw tribe is hosting a dance for the 4th of July weekend at Quapaw OK. This is just west of Joplin MO.

Might try this site every now and then. This is where I found the Sedalia pw. One of the sponser of this site is called Whispering Winds - they always have a list of PW's posted in the store. Number is on the sponser page and they are located ove in Independence ( 45 minute drive).

I told the group about an encounter I had as a small child that involved Native American's and one of the things the owner suggested is that I attend a Powwow this year...

I am also new to the concept of powwows, and only have a slight understanding of what they are. My name is J. Stuart Denman
My parents gave me this name and if you want to talk to me, this is how you should call me.
I am not a Native American and I am not a "Wannabe".
I am a human being, like all of you.
I am like some of you in some ways and not in others....
