Good rebound from last years slight off year. Here are the drums in the drum contest

If the drum contest was left soley up to me after the first session, this is how I would have it 1. Midnite Expess 2. Meskwaki Nation 3. Youngbird 4. The Boyz 5. Tha Tribe.

Little Island Cree, White Lodge or War Pony might get in also.

somebody wake up and tell us the dance winners!!!PPPPPLLLLEEEEAASSEEEE!!i was gonna go but had car trouble friday afternoon--bummer!so i am anxious to know what happened, other than the heat:)

Jeez - I don't even know all the winners....I was dragged out of the arena before they finished announcing.

I really wanted to see if this one woman jingler placed. She had an awesome side step! she danced flat and kept her feet together the whole time - on down beats she would crow hop in a circle. she had a lot of style & really stood out.

something else I noticed was this woman fancy shawl dancer - she had neon green soles on her moccasins. It looked pretty cool because it matched the rest of her outfit....and really made me look at her feet/footwork - looked cool when she kicked.

but anyway...i'm just BS'in...'cuz i don't know the winners.
All i know is that Daryl Jack, Rainbow Azure, George Abeyta, and Wayne Silas won in men's fancy.

well...jeez...not like a perfect circle or anything...but doing a crow-hop type of step on the down beats and coming back

it's not the first time I've seen it either...i saw this other jingler crow hop on the down beats at a powwow back in 2000. she was dressed old style too (no fan - no plume). ....so that made me think it was an old style way of dancing...or is it a new way of dancing?
