    The Life of a Powwow

    The Life of a Powwow
Is the beat of a drum
    The tap of a foot
    An onlooker’s hum
    Powwow is the heart
    Of every Native’s pride
    A part of the culture
    That just never died
When you walk into a powwow
    And see everyone’s face
You know you’ve just stepped into
    An indigenous race

    The Life of a Powwow
    Is grand entry that’s loud
    The smile of an elder
When they see a standing crowd
    They rise in respect
    For the life they’ve endured
    A life that was hard
    But so good and pure

    The Life of a Powwow
Is the swing of a shawl
    The kick of a leg
    A high pitched warrior call
    Fry bread that’s cooked
    So fluffy and sweet
    A dancer that knows
    He didn’t miss a beat

    The Life of a Powwow
    Is puppy-dog eyes
    When she sees the guy
    That makes her heart fly
    “Ladies choice!” declares the emcee
So she asks him to dance, so nervously

    The Life of a Powwow
    Aren’t the contests you see
    The life of a powwow
    Is living the dream
    A dream that was seen
    When our ancestors were young
When the life of a powwow
    Had just begun

    So listen to me
    Listen up now
    Try to understand
    THE LIFE OF A POWWOW

The third part from the bottom paragraph, verse, anyway sounds like it would be a cool round dance.
