I agree with you here..everything happens for a reason..

Thats why we dont allow my little brother to carry such feathers...hes not ready for the responsiblity and to put the care and respect into them...

Anyway, try and have your roommate explain this that she was holding your belongings ransom and they may also consider charging her with extortion. Just a thought. Don't lose your rightful possessions because somebody decides they want to be a punk. That's why you should not just let it go. If you do then you let that person win. I know you are supposed to be turning the other cheek and in the end God will take care of it. My answer is God is sometimes busy and needs help. Remember an eye for an eye and all of the other colorful sayings and passages in the bible. Not meaning to sound preachy but damn, people need to have respect for stuff especially for belongings which are sacred or have significant meanings for people.
If I had known to do something like that, I would've gone to the police or hired a lawyer or whatever. It happened 7 years ago. Is there a statue of limitations on this??? Anyone know? But it's in the past.... I've let it go, so to speak. I only think that they will get their due justice some time in life. I know that's a bad thing to say, but somehow, that's how it turns out.

i agree with some of the comments made here about this happening for a reason. In some stories, when an eagle loses or sheds a feather, he never goes and retrieves it back. Maybe in your case, your fan was "taken" for reasons beyond anyone's comprehension. Perhaps something was going to happen to you in your journeys and the fan took the place of your life. If that fan was as special to you as life is special to you, maybe you should let it go and continue on with your journey. In due time, a new fan or a set of feathers will come to you and at that time, you will better understand the sacrifices the lost fan had to make for you so you can enjoy your life.

And you exercise that right by writing ignorant statements, not just with this thread but elsewhere. I'm sure you're glad of the fact that you can freely state your opinions on here. Without these discussions, your little world would not exist. So there...HAPPY POSTING TO YOU AS WELL.

You're most welcome of the negative reputation you received from me. I for one do not hide what I write.

Yobe, I apologize for these interuptions. As with any compassionate person would do, I certainly do hope you find your fan.

First of all, I think this should be the perfect forum for posting about a lost item, particularly a fan which one of us might observe on another or maybe found and picked up. Should be. Yobe didn't come here for judgment on her losing of the fan; so why so free with all the condemnation? I'm sure she felt bad enough without all the 'prophets or prophetesses of doom and gloom' putting on their goody two shoes hats and expressing dismay that she would be SO irresponsible over something SO important.

SEcond, there are folks out here that are not emotionally capable of doing anything but 'joking' about anything that is posted. I've gotten bad repped before for being 'too serious' in someone's mind. That is their problem not mine. I'm not going to be 'Pollyanna' if the occasion doesn't demand it. I'm sure I'll find bad rep before the end of the day over this post, in fact.

Bottom line: Yobe didn't come here for judgment on her losing of the fan, she came her hoping someone might see it and it would be returned to her. She looked for friendship and support. Did she get it? Precious little.

I really hope that you find your fan, and that it comes back to you :( I can surely empathize with you, it's like loosing a member of the family, and just because it's a fan, does not mean it has any less value! Keep you in my thoughts and prayers that it comes back to you, take care and keep well! *hugs*****

I think that is what burbs was getting at. These things are precious to us. Don't know why that's such a problem to understand. Just cause we jokes doesn't mean there is a lack of compassion. I once read on the board that "you know your ndn if - you always have to explain your jokes" .

I also agree that things come and go in our lives for reasons we could never understand. I know a woman that has gone into the circle hungover after vowing in the circle a year before sobriety and she has lost three feathers and her fan. Sometimes we should not have these things. Sometimes we need a lesson in some area such as humility. And sometimes- shyt happens. I also know I would not want the "mojo" associated with stolen feathers. No way!

Am I the only one that thinks it is strange that "yobe" has not come back on here and said a word but instead the people that have a prob with the jokes are doing the speaking for her? Things to make me go hm.

I'm also of the belief that things happen for a reason. If these feathers were lost through carelessness then perhaps they now reside with someone who can and will take better care of them. If they were taken by someone who had no right to them, then that person shall reap what she sows by stealing something so precious and sacred.

As for what many percieve as harshness from those like dat1 and burbs and I (and other) for expressing what we think, sometimes it's necessary to "tell it like it is" - if you think it a scolding then my belief is it's likely a deserved one.

Why should someone new, who has basically been 'shamed' by others return to post?

And for me speaking for her, no one can speak for another person.

I also adhere to the philosophy of 'things happen for a reason', but rubbing someone's nose in their mistakes isn't very nice.

You're cracking me up now! :lol2: No one rubbed anyones nose in it. For pizz sakes she said "that is like losing one of your kids" how is that rubbing her nose in it?

And as for your "me" complex, that was not adressed to you. It was to ac miss and digital. The miss was speaking for yobe.
And while we're still talking about this stupid crap -- why is it SHE has a pic of the fan? Things like that make me go humm. :23:

The first fan I'm making is a turkey wing fan. Is there a better way to make the handle than to buy that block of wood from crazy crow?? And how does everyone attach the handle to their wing??...
