    huh?

How do u lose something THAT precious?...or was it taken?

I agree wit Mr. Bo u can pretty much 4get about it now, its probably done been fixed up ENTIRELY different by now. But then on the other hand its good to keep faith that good things'll happen. Its just in my experience that folks are like big ol vultures when it comes to black tips. So it be a freakin miracle to find someone kind enuff to return it. But good luck!

This brings up a good point.

I don't know if folks out there do this or not, but, I've photographed every feather I use or carry, just in case stuff like this happens.

You can get some nice close ups with cameras today, or better yet, lay em on a scanner and scan em, you get a lifesized, or nearly lifesized image of your roach feathers or fan. Mottling on feathers is just like a fingerprint, they're unique and one of a kind...so, it's next to impossible for anyone to have the same markings on their feathers.

I usually keep photos or scans of my feathers in my bag with my permits when I travel.

I know a few folks that lost fans because they we're flat out careless or in a hurry to pack up for whatever reason...some got em back, others lost feathers, bustles, fans and never saw em again!!!

One friend of mine had his mom borrow his fan, she left it on the luggage rack on his ride....she drove home....the fringe snagged onto the rack and she made the 30 minute drive home and found the fan hanging off the roof of her SUV, a bit beat up.......but intact!

    ....damn!!!!! She was lucky!!!!!!

A full set of 12 black and whites mounted into a flat fan......someone was watchin' over dat fan that night!!!!!
    Damn, you're sharp!!

I hope you find it! I almost forgot 1 of my fans at our hotel after GON in April, luckily, i took one look around, and that taught me never to put anything on top of a high Tv cabinet

    Lost Fan

Greetings everyone...I am in need of your help. I lost my fan at Traders Village Powwow at Grand Prarie, Texas in September of this year. The fan is made with immature golden tail feathers (black tips & speckled underneath). There is no beadwork on the handle but sewn with white leather and several colored threads wrapped on the end of each feather. As with everyone else, my fan is very special to me and has been apart of my spirit from the beginning. IF you know anyone who has found a fan similar to my description, please contact me.

What do you think of wing fans? I've seen them being carried by a variety of dancers, including straight dancers. What types of fans do you all use? I prefer a loose fan with eagle feathers...

What kind of fan do you use if you use one, tail, wing, or other?? I prefer using a tail fan, and I see lots of other jinglers using tail fans, and others using the wing fans. Which do you prefer and/or use?

OK need a little help here. I'm making 2 fans in the next week or so and have a few queestions.
The first fan I'm making is a turkey wing fan. Is there a better way to make the handle than to buy that block of wood from crazy crow?? And how does everyone attach the handle to their wing??...
